Honshu (本州, Honshū, arti harfiah: Provinsi Utama) adalah pulau terbesar Jepang. Letaknya di selatan Hokkaido, utara Shikoku di seberang Laut Pedalaman Seto, dan timur laut Kyushu di seberang Selat Kanmon.

It is south of Hokkaidō across the Tsugaru Strait, north of Shikoku across the Seto Inland Sea, and northeast of Kyūshū across the Kanmon Strait. It is the seventh biggest island, and is the island with the second highest number of people in the world after Java.
Hokkaido Shinkansen (北海道新幹線, Hokkaidō Shinkansen) adalah jalur kereta berkecepatan tinggi Shinkansen yang menghubungkan pulau Honshu dengan pulau Hokkaido. Jalur ini sudah terkoneksi dengan Tōhoku Shinkansen yang sudah beroperasi sebelumnya.
