The “Male Gaze” is just the objectification of women. You can make the Witcher without objectifying women AND remaining true to the story. Hissrich tried to girlboss all the women, but ignored the fact that they are already incredibly strong characters in the source material.
Yes and the way they ruined her relationship with Eskel and Lambert in Kaer Morhen? They teased her in the books a little bit sure, and they weren't really knowledgable on what it takes to raise a girl (as mentioned by Triss) but they genuinely liked her.
