Feb 9, 2020 · Epidural: Administer a test dose (eg, 2 to 3 mL of lidocaine 1.5%) at least 5 minutes prior to injecting the total volume required for a lumbar or caudal block. Dosage varies with the number of dermatomes to be anesthetized (generally 2 to 3 mL of lidocaine 1%, 1.5%, or 2% with epinephrine [1:200,000] per dermatome).
