Louis II of Brieg; (1380/85 – 30 May 1436), was a Duke of Brzeg (Brieg) from 1399 (until 1400 with his older brother as a co-ruler) and Duke of Legnica from 1413. He was the second son of Henry VII with a Scar, Duke of Brzeg, but the eldest born by his second wife Margareta, daughter of Siemowit III, Duke of Masovia .

Ludwig II. von Liegnitz (auch Ludwig II. von Brieg; * 1384; † 30. April 1436) war 1399 bis 1436 Herzog von Brieg und 1419 bis 1436 Herzog von Liegnitz. Er entstammte dem Liegnitzer Zweig der Schlesischen Piasten.

Louis II, popularly known as "Mad King Ludwig," came to the throne of Bavaria upon the death of his father, Maximilian II, on 10 March 1864. Louis's ill-starred rule ended with his own controversial death on 13 June 1886. "Max died too soon," wrote Louis's mother when her son inherited the throne at age eighteen.
