Trip Overview. Took my Venture Crew up to the UP for our annual 3 day canoe trip and it ended up being much more than anticipated. We canoed from Germfask to Manistique (63 miles). Used Northland Outfitters as our spotter for our canoes in Germfask. Beautiful weather.

There is no whitewater on the slow-moving Manistique River. You can use your own canoe or kayak and pay the local paddle sport outfitters for shuttle service. The route can be shortened or lengthened (by continuing downriver into the Seney National Wildlife Refuge) to create a customized outing.
