  4. There is no whitewater on the slow-moving Manistique River. You can use your own canoe or kayak and pay the local paddle sport outfitters for shuttle service. The route can be shortened or lengthened (by continuing downriver into the Seney National Wildlife Refuge) to create a customized outing.

    Northland Outfitters is on hwy 77 in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan. They are right on the river and very friendly folks.
