The Territory of Nevada (N.T.) was an organized incorporated territory of the United States that existed from March 2, 1861, until October 31, 1864, when it was admitted to the Union as the State of Nevada.

The boundaries were poorly understood then and may still be uncertain.
Provision of section 9 of act organizing territory which provided that justices’ courts did not have jurisdiction where debt or sum claimed exceeded one hundred dollars (see NRS 4.370 and 73.010) applied to all cases cognizable in justices’ courts, whether they arose from contract or in tort.
