Palmyra Atoll is an uninhabited atoll in the Line Islands in Micronesia, 1,105 mi south of Honolulu, about half way between Hawaii and American Samoa. Its nearest neighbor is uninhabited Kingman Reef to the northwest; the nearest inhabited islands are those of Kiribati. Map. Directions. Satellite.
The atoll is 4.6 sq mi (12 km2), and it is located in the equatorial Northern Pacific Ocean. Its 9 mi (14 km) of coastline has one anchorage known as West Lagoon.

It is the northernmost atoll in the Line Islands in the equatorial Pacific. On January 6, 2009, the Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument was established, which includes Palmyra Atoll National Wildlife Refuge and the surrounding ocean out to 50 nautical miles within its boundaries.
