TFAM was officially opened on 24 December 1983, focusing on contemporary Taiwanese arts and introducing international art currents to its nation-wide audiences. Facility includes： exhibition Gallery, art experience corner, art studio, bookshop, Out door café, auditorium, library, parking lot etc. TFAM website began in 1996 with www.tfam.gov.tw.
Works and lives in Taipei, Ping Yu Pan earned her degree from the Graduate Institute of Plastic Arts at Tainan National University of the Arts in 1998, and is currently an associate professor in Fine Art School (FAS), Taipei National University of the Arts (TNUA).
