Thomas Montgomery Newman (born October 20, 1955) is an American composer and conductor best known for his many film scores.
His theme music for the television show Six Feet Under won two Grammy Awards in 2003, for Best Instrumental Composition as well as Best Instrumental Arrangement. He also wrote the theme for the HBO series Newsroom .
