Oct 3, 2022 · Gjirokastra. Best city for Albanian traditions. Known as the city of stone, Gjirokastra is a UNESCO city in the south of Albania. It was the birthplace of the former communist dictator, Enver Hoxha. One of the best things to do here, apart from walking the bazaar and visiting the castle of Gjirokastra, is to wander around Zekate House.
