  1. Sep 4, 2016 · Unfortunately, some of the more underrated wrestlers in WCW’s time seem to be forgotten now. Even though the prime crop of WCW in Sting and Goldberg seem to keep their relevance intact, many others were forgotten soon after the company folded and weren’t signed by the WWE either.

    • Alex Wright. Without question, Alex Wright should have been a much bigger deal that he was. He worked with WCW from 1994 to 2001, the vast majority of his in ring career.
    • Buff Bagwell. While he wasn't exactly the greatest wrestler to step through the ropes. Buff Bagwell certainly had the look. He was definitely a franchise player in WCW, working with the company from 1991 through 2001.
    • Vampiro. There are long careers in pro wrestling, and then there's Vampiro. He debuted in 1984, continuing to be an active part of the industry through 2020.
    • Mark Jindrak. Keeping in mind that Mark Jindrak has been wrestling around the world for two decades, the best known moment of his career is one that didn't happen.
  2. Romeo continued training at the Power Plant & had his debut match on 9/4/99 against Triple A (Alan Funk/Kwee Wee) at a Florida house show. Romeo wrestled Triple A (now Alan Funk) again five days later for his TV debut. It was two matches at a WCW Saturday Night taping.

  3. The Blackhearts captured the Stampede International Tag Team Titles on the 9/29/89 TV show after defeating The Samurai Warriors. This time it was Red Tyler as Destruction. That just lasted for two shows before going back to Jason Anderson. In November of 1989 Tom would leave Stampede as well.

    • AJ Styles. This is likely the entry that will have WCW fans pulling their hair and saying, "What if?" At the time of its closing, WCW unknowingly housed one of the biggest stars of the past 20 years, "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles.
    • Mark Jindrak. The top two entries on the list are perhaps the prime example that WCW had some hidden gems on their final roster. On paper, Mark Jindrak had everything a promotion could want out of a young performer.
    • Elix Skipper. Sadly, this entry is going to be a bit of a downer. During WCW's final days, Elix Skipper was one of the few highlights the promotion had.
    • Evan Karagias. The recurring theme of this list is that WCW shot itself in the foot by never building up young talent. Evan Karagias was just another example of that.
  4. Paul Wight/Giant wrestled on the Jericho Cruise. Yuji Nagata had a Collision match in January. Christopher Daniels was never signed to WCW but had a Nitro match in 2001. Billy Gunn did some WCW squash matches in the late 80s.
