Sometimes they say they frame rate convert to 48, 72 or 96fps, but that is only repeating the existing frames, and it's not really relevant to think in those terms with digital displays, where there is no CRT-style scanning used any more.
On my computer FrameRateConverter() is about 5 times faster than RIFE() (without encoding). Some other MVtools' based frame rate converters are more than 30x faster. Of course, it depends on the settings used. And other filtering you're doing. And how slow your encoder is.
Jun 14, 2006 · In short, you are quite correct. As you can see, this makes mockery of the legislated definition of high definition including 576p, at least with film sourced material. For the most part, all 576p does is chew up radio spectrum bandwidth for no discernible picture quality improvement.
