Brandon University is a university located in the city of Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, with an enrolment of approximately 3,375 (2020) full-time and part-time undergraduate and graduate students. The current location was founded on July 13, 1899, as Brandon College as a Baptist institution.
Brandon University’s History Department offers courses in social history, gender and women’s history, cultural history, public history, as well as those in national and world history reflect the increasing diversity of historical studies.
Brandon University received its charter on June 5, 1967 on the occasion of the visit of Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra and the Honourable Angus Ogilvie. The Education Building was opened in 1967 and the Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium in 1969.

She would only remain in the community for just over an hour before venturing on to Winnipeg.
