Oct 26, 2022 · Racialized groups in Canada are all experiencing growth. In 2021, South Asian (7.1%), Chinese (4.7%) and Black (4.3%) people together represented 16.1% of Canada's total population.
Overview. In a 2013 survey of 80 countries by the World Values Survey, Canada was ranked among the most racially tolerant societies in the world. [2] In 2021, the Social Progress Index ranked Canada 6th in the world for overall tolerance and inclusion. [3] [4]
Canada is distinctive among European and Australasian democracies (Kymlicka 2010) because racial and ethnic diversity and equity and human rights based discourse both derive from and continually reshape the country’s demographic, social, and political landscape.
