  4. Nov 1, 2007 · The Winchester M-670's can be found with both the side safety (ala Mauser) and the preferred M-70 3-position safety. (Depending on year of MFG.) My 1981 Winchester still shows the M-670 and M-70A. I can find no reference to a M-670-A. Apparently, when USRA, took over production of Winchester in 1981, that was the end of the economy grade M-70's.
