From here, you can bike all the way to Galax and Fries. Across the length of the New River Trail, you’ll cross 32 trestle bridges and go through two railroad tunnels.

Aug 17, 2022 · Visit 32 Bridges, 4 Counties, 2 Tunnels at New River Trail – Part 1. A rails-to-trails conversion created much of this linear park that parallels the New River for 39 miles and meanders through Grayson, Carroll, Wythe and Pulaski counties in southwest Virginia.
Check out this 49.7-mile point-to-point trail near Max Meadows, Virginia. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 16 h 8 min to complete. This is a popular trail for birding, camping, and fishing, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day.
