Developed by NCARB and required by most U.S. licensing boards, the AXP provides a framework to guide you through earning and reporting your professional experience.
The AXP is designed to help you gain comprehensive experience in areas of architectural practice related to health, safety, and welfare. You can start earning AXP experience after you graduate from high school or the established equivalent.
The Architectural Experience Program ® (AXP ®) identifies 96 key tasks that fall into six practice areas. To demonstrate your ability to perform those tasks, you’ll need to report a total of 3,740 hours across the six areas in your NCARB Record.
