Nicole Lynn Mitchell (born October 10, 1974) is an American politician, military officer, and meteorologist. She represents the cities of Woodbury and Maplewood in the Minnesota Senate. Mitchell is also a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air National Guard, commanding the 126th Weather Flight.

Nicole Mitchell is a creative flutist, composer, and bandleader who has performed with many jazz luminaries and received numerous awards and honors. She is the founder of Black Earth Ensemble and Black Earth Strings, and the first woman president of Chicago's AACM.
She took her developed talent to the stage, performing in such notable stageplays as Dreamgirls, Beehive and perhaps her most notable role, The Lion King. Mitchell became a regular performing in clubs and theaters around Chicago over the last two decades.
