One of the many athletes coached by Bela and Martha Karolyi, Phoebe Mills was a member of the 1988 U.S. Olympic Team. Along with the fourth-place team finish, she also won the bronze medal on the balance beam. Mills was the first U.S. female gymnast to medal in a non-boycotted Olympic Games.
