The Quick Gun is a 1964 American Techniscope Western film directed by Sidney Salkow and starring Audie Murphy. It was the second of four films produced by Grant Whytock and Edward Small's Admiral Pictures in the 1960s.

Noose for a Gunman is a 1960 American Western film directed by Edward L. Cahn and starring Jim Davis and Barton MacLane. The film was a remake of Steve Fisher 's Top Gun (1955) then was later remade as The Quick Gun. [1] [2]
Mar 25, 2016 · The Quick Gun was pretty well a straight remake; the story and even some of the dialogue (Robert E Kent and Steve Fisher) are the same. Noose is in black & white while the remake was in color but the original can hold its head up – it is as least as good as the Murphy vehicle in my estimation.

Feb 18, 2016 · 'The Quick Gun' is a remake of a Jim Davis film, 'Noose for a Gunman,' made just four years earlier. And Ted de Corsia plays the bad guy in both movies! The Audie Murphy version is superior in every way, but the 1960 film is quite watchable. They'd make an interesting double bill.
