Leica had a pretty good amount of input, not only in helping Panavision with optical design but in sourcing the glass itself. Both Leica R's and Panavision Primos use glass sourced at ElCan foundry / factory in Canada. They both have the same color hue and aesthetic characteristics. I've used both the primo series and own a set of Leica R's.

Once we get to [the part of the story set in the Swedish village of] Hårga we jump into the Panavision Primo Artiste 70mm lenses.
