"Near Dark" is acclaimed as one of the best vampire films of all time for many reasons (really, Bill Paxton's performance alone makes a solid case for it), but one particular aspect I like is how this is a film that doesn't show vampires as all-powerful, but actually kind of pitiful.
Near Dark is my favourite vampire film, hands down. Some people I’ve shown it to think it’s a bit slow, but I really enjoy the grimy atmosphere, the Tangerine Dream score, and the amazing cast from Aliens (1986) and the Terminator series.
