    • Take the Historical Tour. Start out at 316 E. Wallace Street. Originally built in 1926 by Miss Nora Walker to house her thriving millinery business, these days Wedding Oak Winery makes its home here.
    • Visit the Wineries. Whether you prefer red or white, you will be delighted as you stroll through the variety of wineries making San Saba famous. With the Old Man Scary Cellars and Wedding Oak Winery, San Saba is fast becoming a “must-stop” on the Texas Hill Country Wine Tours.
    • Picnic at the Park. With three magically different city parks and the Colorado Bend State Park in the area, there are picnic options abound. Mill Pond Park is an athletic park with recreational courts for sand volleyball and basketball, an all-weather jogging track, and baseball parks.
    • Check Out the Courthouse. Smack dab in the center of the San Saba Town Square stands the third San Saba Courthouse. Many might think the location was cursed.

  5. Located in east central San Saba County, San Saba was settled in 1854 and named for its location on the San Saba River. It became the county seat in 1856. By 1884, the town had four churches, two schools, a sawmill and a gristmill, a bank, a paper, and a population of 800.

  6. San Saba is located about two hours from Austin and Fredericksburg, two other great Texas destinations. If you have the time, consider adding a day trip to your itinerary to explore these nearby towns.

  7. It is San Saba’s oldest stone building. In the early 1870′s, Estep built this two-story building facing the courthouse out of locally quarried, rough-cut hard limestone. Each floor is a single 20 x 16 foot room with hewn beam ceiling joists and pine floor planking. A newer 10-foot square room attaches to the west end.
