The Theatre Royal in Bath, England, was built in 1805. A Grade II* listed building, it has been described by the Theatres Trust as "One of the most important surviving examples of Georgian theatre architecture". It has a capacity for an audience of around 900.
Lovely Georgian theatre in centre of Bath. Easy walk from station. Varied programme of shows. Theatre is small so no seats are too far from stage. Bar open before show & during interval. We've just seen Tony - the musical (very funny).

Brimming with history, the Theatre Royal Bath is one of the oldest and most beautiful theatres in Britain. Comprising three auditoria, the Main House, Ustinov Studio and the egg theatre for children and young people, a wonderfully varied programme of top quality entertainment is on offer all year round.
Built in 1805, the Georgian Theatre Royal was beautifully refurbished in 2010. The Main House offers a year-round programme of top-quality drama, including many West End productions, opera, comedy, dance and frequent Sunday concerts.
The 1805 Rooms and Ustinov theatre offer conference facilities for 940 people. A wide range of productions is put on from Shakespeare to musicals. In the Ustinov Theatre at the back of the main building you can often see both improvised and scripted comedy shows.
