My biggest complaint with the 850 so far is that when you're using a probe set to a desired temp, when that temp is reached it starts shutting the grill down. Not an ideal situation when you have something else that you're cooking that might not be ready yet.

Aug 14, 2021 · Aside from the larger size of the 1150 (which is actually a negative for me - I prefer a smaller grill), the ash clean out on the bottom of the 1150, and the 4 temp probe ports on the 1150 vs the 2 on the 850, are there any other major differences?

macther1pp3r. • 3 yr. ago. Since I’m new to pellet grilling, I’ve just worked with what I had. Based on the MEATER+ and the analog thermometer in the cover, I’ve learned that the actual avg ambient temp near the meat is around 25 degrees F lower than the controller-set temperature.
