The Box is a mysterious package that NCIS Special Agent, Kensi Blye recieved and later gave to her partner, LAPD Detective Liaison, Marty Deeks. Since it's introduction, the Box remained unopened with no knowledge on what it contained inside for many years until its contents were finally revealed in Season 10.
In Season 4 episode 14, Kensi first recieved the Box and did not reveal what it contains when Deeks pressed her about the issue. Deeks attempted to open the Box, but stopped when Kensi caught him in the act. A few weeks later, Deeks was surprised to find the Box on his desk and tried to return it to Kensi's desk to avoid getting into trouble. However, Deeks was surprised when Kensi revealed she was giving him the Box and since then, Deeks has not opened it, believing Kensi maybe tricking him. Kensi states her reasons for giving him the Box was to make amends for forgetting his birthday in Drive and the only clue Kensi revealed about what the Box contains is that it's "something Deeks has always wanted". The Box has been stored on a shelf in the Bullpen and it has since remained unopened.
In Season 5, Three Hearts after Deeks and Kensi decide to remain friends despite their feelings for each other, Kensi gets the Box and puts it on Deeks's desk. Deeks finally decides to open the Box, but finds it contains a smaller box inside. Since then, the Box has continued to remain unopened and what's inside continues to remain a mystery.
In Season 10, during a case involving a safety deposit box in Heist it brought back memories for Deeks and he mentions the Box that Kensi previously gave him and wonders whatever happened to it. Kensi is surprised when Deeks reveals he doesn't know where the Box is. However, Deeks reassures Kensi he didn't lose the Box, but begins to secretly panic when he realize that he has in fact lost it. Eric and Nell assure Deeks they will find it.
The Box was finally opened in Till Death Do Us Part on the day of Deeks and Kensi's wedding. Before the ceremony, Kensi instructed Deeks he needed to open the Box and he began desperately searching for it until Nell revealed it was the armoury. After 6 years, Deeks finally opened the Box, but is surprised to find pop up snakes. He empties out the Box and discovers a key and believes the key is a symbol, meaning he has the key to Kensi's heart. However, Nell reveals it's actually a key to one of the lockers, revealing the Box's true contents had been move down for safe keeping. Deeks retrieves the contents from the locker and finds an envelope. He later opens the envelope and finds it contains a wedding ring and a heartfelt letter from Kensi's expressing her love for him.

He would leave it with my as a promise that he would always come back and be there to protect me. And then one day he didn’t... this ring was my link to him and I clung to it desperately. I no longer felt safe and I knew I would never have that much love in my life again. No one could live up to my dad. But I was wrong. Because you came into my life and you showed me what it is to be truly loved and feel safe again. There is no one in this world who means what you do to me. This ring was everything I cherished and it is yours because I cherish you. Love is endless and I am yours now and forever.

Deeks is left completely emotional by the depth of Kensi's love for him, including Callen and Sam who arrive shortly after. Finally when Kensi and Deeks at last get married, Deeks begins to wear Donald Blye's wedding ring that Kensi had passed down to him.
•The Executive Producers revealed the contents and letter inside the Box are said to be more emotional than the actual wedding vows themselves.
