- Season 3 (2002–2003) Season 3 was classic Gilmore Girls. Every episode was a banger, from Lorelai flashing back to her teen pregnancy to Rory's love triangle exploding at the town dance marathon in "They Shoot Gilmores, Don't They?"
- Season 2 (2001–2002) The first three seasons of Gilmore Girls are all wonderful, and the difference in quality is honestly negligible. Season 2, however, had the most high-stakes romantic drama, as Lorelai broke off her engagement to Max and Jess arrived in town to kick off the Rory/Dean/Jess love triangle.
- Season 1 (2000–2001) Gilmore Girls' debut season had its share of awkward moments while the writers and actors were discovering the characters we all know and love: Rory's voice was weirdly low, Stars Hollow eccentric Kirk's (Sean Gunn) name was "Mick," Rory and Lorelai kept insisting that they never fight even as they literally fought all the time, and Lorelai ate a salad(!).

- Bon Voyage. (Season 7, Episode 22) Spoiler Alert: The series finale is the only episode from Season 7 to crack the top 30. After the Palladinos exited the series over contract disputes, the characters never found their footing with the new regime.
- Presenting Lorelai Gilmore. (Season 2, Episode 6) Rory is dragged into Emily Gilmore’s (Kelly Bishop) world when she agrees to be presented at a debutante ball.
- The Reigning Lorelai. (Season 4, Episode 16) Emily and Richard both begin to spiral after Richard’s mother Trix (Marion Ross) passes away. When Emily finds a letter from Trix begging Richard to leave Emily at the altar, she refuses to participate in Trix’s funeral and becomes a bit mad, and smoking and drinking in her robe mid-afternoon.
- I Get a Sidekick Out of You. (Season 6, Episode 19) Lane’s (Keiko Agena) wedding is her own, well-deserved episode. As one of the most consistent characters on the show, her wedding is time to celebrate her and her bandmate/husband (Todd Lowe).
- Raincoats and Recipes (Season 4, Episode 22) And number one on our list of the most outstanding "Gilmore Girls" episodes is "Raincoats and Recipes." This is the Season 4 finale, and directly follows from the events in "Last Week Fights, This Week Tights."
- Last Week Fights, This Week Tights (Season 4, Episode 21) "Last Week Fights, This Week Tights" is the penultimate episode of Season 4, and it begins with Rory, Paris, and their roommates preparing to leave Yale for the summer.
- Friday Night's Alright for Fighting (Season 6, Episode 13) In the episode "Friday Night's Alright for Fighting," Rory has returned to Yale and is trying to catch up for all the time she missed.
- Wedding Bell Blues (Season 5, Episode 13) In the second half of Season 4, Richard and Emily separate. It's especially hard on Rory, but they reconcile during Season 5 in the episode "Come Home."
