Woodland is a city in, and the county seat of, Yolo County, California, United States. It is located approximately 15 miles (24 km) northwest of Sacramento, and is a part of the Sacramento metropolitan area.

Jun 3, 2024 · Woodland, city, seat (1862) of Yolo county, central California, U.S. It lies in the Sacramento Valley, 20 miles (30 km) northwest of Sacramento. It was founded in 1853 by Henry Wyckoff and was first known as Yolo City; the present name, suggested by its location in a grove of oak trees, was adopted.
