Jan 24, 2018 · Original Paramount Pictures logo from 1914. The first branding for Paramount was created in 1914. It featured the name Paramount in Excelsis with a crown of stars and a mountain. According to legend, the mountain was based on a drawing made by co-founder William Wadsworth (W.W.) Hodkinson that's inspired by memories of his childhood spent in Utah.
The logo variant from Red Garters also makes a cameo appearance in this variant. Take a Letter, Darling (1942): The 1920s logo is seen on the cover of a folder. Jasper and the Haunted House (1942): At the start of the film, the 1912-1927 Paramount Pictures logo is imprinted on the bottom of a pie tin.

Behind the mountain, wispy clouds appear in the sky. The original logo had 22 stars. They represented the 22 stars the studio had under contract when it opened.
