May 7, 2024 · To get there, follow Hwy 99 north from West Vancouver. Follow the signs for Porteau Cove Provincial Park (not Porteau Road which is 2km south of the park). Turn left off of the highway into the park. Porteau Cove Park is open year-round with limited facilities and reduced fees in the winter (November 12 to February 28).
May 18, 2024 · Sandcut Beach is a favourite day trip along Vancouver Island’s southern west coast. Just past French Beach Provincial Park, the hour-long drive from Victoria, on West Coast Rd. Access to the beach from a small parking lot just alongside the highway makes this destination worth visiting any time of the year!

This park is located next to the Canadian Pacific Railway mainline. It is illegal to operate an uninsured or unlicenced motor vehicle in any provincial park, recreation area or campground.

The most accommodation options can be found in Squamish, and because this scenic town is about halfway between Vancouver and Whistler, it’s a popular place to spend the night and break up the journey along the Sea to Sky Highway.
