May 8, 2001 · ‘Rio Bravo’ is a very good film, though it’s stark black-and-white view of the world is slightly dated now. It is the ultimate legitimate classic of its genre, particularly notable for what is considered John Wayne's most tender performance and a strong supporting cast including Dean Martin and a very young Ricky Nelson.
