The Breakers. Built 1895 National Historic Landmark. The Breakers is the grandest of Newport's summer "cottages" and a symbol of the Vanderbilt family's social and financial pre-eminence in the Gilded Age. Open daily, 10 am - 4 pm. The Breakers is partially accessible with elevator in service.
