  8. I'm talking here specifically on Middlemarch. I've read the very beginning of The Mill on the Floss. Interesting that it was Proust's favourite book. I haven't heard many people (outside Christopher Hitchens) defend Daniel Deronda. But I was curious what people here think of her other writings.
