May 14, 2021 · HUD at 100 Days. In the first 100 days of the Biden-Harris Administration, Secretary Fudge and HUD have delivered on urgent housing needs and laid the foundations to tackle longer-term housing challenges.
The housing choice voucher program is designed to allow families to move without the loss of housing assistance. Moves are permissible as long as the family notifies the PHA ahead of time, terminates its existing lease within the lease provisions, and finds acceptable alternate housing.
We rely on federal and state grant programs to fund our programs. We work closely with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) on our public housing and, with the State of Florida, the development of affordable housing.
