Margaret Dumont (born Daisy Juliette Baker; October 20, 1882 – March 6, 1965) [1] [2] [a] was an American stage and film actress. She is best remembered as the comic foil to the Marx Brothers in seven of their films; Groucho Marx called her "practically the fifth Marx brother." [3] [b] Early life.
Margaret Dumont (1882-1965) was an actress who played the straight woman in seven Marx Brothers' films. She also appeared in other comedies and dramas, and was married to John Moller, Jr. until his death in 1918.
