Darrell Ray Thomas' career in daytime began in 1998 when he joined Days of our Lives as a breakdown writer. Thomas' would join Passions in 1999 as a breakdown writer continuing with the show until its cancellation in 2008. In 2011, he returned to DAYS as co-head writer along with Marlene McPherson but was replaced in August 2012.
