St. Louis University High School (SLUH) is an all-male Jesuit high school in St. Louis, Missouri. Founded in 1818, it is the oldest secondary educational institution in the United States west of the Mississippi River, and one of the largest private high schools in Missouri. It is located in the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
The oldest school west of the Mississippi River, SLUH began in 1818 as a Latin school for boys in a one-story home. Since then, it has experienced four name and five location changes. It has endured wars, natural disasters, financial market crashes and health crises.
Situated on a 32-acre campus by scenic Forest Park, our central urban location allows SLUH to cultivate relationships with the Saint Louis Science Center, Missouri Botanical Garden, Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Cortex Innovation Community and other notable institutions.
