The Ducal Georgianum ( German: Herzogliches Georgianum) is a theological seminary of the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in Germany. It was founded in 1494. Pope Benedict XVI studied at the Seminary until 1951.
The Herzogliches Georgianum (Georgianum Ducal Foundation) is the second oldest seminary in the world. Its library, focusing mainly on theology, comprises 75,000 volumes. The 40,000 volumes in the historic book collections date mainly from the 18th century.
In order to awaken an understanding for art in future priests and to prepare them for the proper handling of works of art in their future churches, the then director of the Ducal Georgianum - incidentally the second oldest seminary in the world - Dr Andreas Schmid compiled a comprehensive collection of religious art from 1885 onwards.

The Herzogliches Georgianum (Ducal Georgianum) is an LMU Munich endowment for the training of priests and theologians. Its aims are supported by a series of scientific collections and, in particular, by the Museum kirchlicher Kunst (Museum of Ecclesiastical Art).

Ducal Georgianum Francis Xavier Krautbauer (January 12, 1824 – December 17, 1885) was a German-born prelate of the Catholic Church who served as the second bishop of the Diocese of Green Bay in Wisconsin from 1875 until his death in 1885.
Aug 11, 2023 · The Georgianum Ducal Foundation has a new director: Professor Stefan Kopp is in charge of the seminary and has also assumed the Chair of Liturgical Studies in the Faculty of Catholic Theology.
