Sep 21, 2023 · Don Woodard Sr., longtime Fort Worth businessman, author, and highly regarded voice on political and civic issues, died Monday, Sept. 18. He was 97.
Eddie had been a friend of my father, Don Woodard, Sr., for many years. Eddie was from Itasca, Texas, and when he graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in petroleum engineering, he began a fledgling acidizing company that would evolve into the Western Company of North America.
Don Woodard is an internationally recognized artist that has the unique ability to carve by hand, very detailed, High & Low Relief, Mixed Media images, in select woods. He also has the painting skills to highlight or detail the carvings into works of fine art.
Don Woodard ARTWORKS, Studio & Gallery, was opened in 2018 after Don retired from his 45-year career designing and building exhibits for trade shows, visitor centers, and Hall of Fames.
Don Woodard is known for Dream On (1990), Rodney (2004) and Just Shoot Me! (1997). He has been married to Karen Lauritzen since 1997.
