    Donald "Don" Nicholl (9 August 1925 – 5 July 1980) was an English-American screenwriter and producer. His production company, Nicholl Ross West (with Michael Ross and Bernie West), produced the sitcoms All in the Family, The Jeffersons, Three's Company, and The Ropers. Don was involved in a total of 77 episodes of AitF, 31 of which he also wrote, as well as 41 episodes of Three's Company and 28 of its initial spin-off series, The Ropers.

    Born in Sunderland, England, Don worked as a journalist, columnist, and publicist in England, and moved to the United States in 1968. His widow Gee set up the Don and Gee Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting program after his death.
