Airwaves is the eighth studio album released by British rock band Badfinger in 1979 on the Elektra label (a sister label to Warner Bros. Records, their previous label), the seventh album released that was credited to Badfinger.
Nicholas Christian Hopkins (24 February 1944 – 6 September 1994) was an English pianist and organist.
A second album release by Night in 1980 entitled Long Distance produced a minor hit in its single release: "Love on the Airwaves", and was otherwise overlooked. Night had no further recordings released but did not officially disband until 1982.

In 2000, the unreleased 1975 album rejected by Warner Bros. finally surfaced under the title Head First. Mike Gibbins was living in Florida when he died on October 4, 2005, after suffering a brain aneurysm, leaving Joey Molland as the last surviving member of Badfinger's definitive lineup.
