Peter Boyle. Jump to. 4 wins & 25 nominations. American Comedy Awards, USA. 2000 Nominee American Comedy Award. Funniest Supporting Male Performer in a TV Series. Everybody Loves Raymond. Primetime Emmy Awards. 2005 Nominee Primetime Emmy. Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Everybody Loves Raymond. For playing: "Frank Barone".
Boyle, who won an Emmy Award in 1996 for a guest-starring role on the Fox science-fiction drama The X-Files, won praise in both comedic and dramatic parts following his breakthrough performance in the 1970 film Joe, and as Wizard in Taxi Driver (1976).
A major Emmy blunder had Boyle earning seven nominations for his Frank Barrone character without a win, the only prime player on the show unhonored. He survived a heart attack while on the set of "Everybody Loves Raymond" in 1999, but managed to return full time for the remainder of the series' run through 2005.
