Patrick Galen Dempsey (born January 13, 1966) [1] is an American actor and racing driver. He is best known for his role as neurosurgeon Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd in the ABC medical drama series Grey's Anatomy from 2005-15, and returned again from 2020-21.
