For her role as Hannah Morgan in The Mirror Has Two Faces, Bacall won the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress – Motion Picture and was nominated for a BAFTA and an Academy Award.
In 1997, Lauren appeared in The Mirror Has Two Faces (1996), in one of the best roles of her later career, opposite Barbra Streisand, where Lauren was nominated as Best Actress in a Supporting Role by both the Academy and the Golden Globes, winning the Golden Globe for the role.
Bacall was dubbed “The Look” for her sultry stare. She won the National Book Award in 1980 for her bestselling autobiography By Myself. She won the first of two Tony Awards® in 1970 for her starring role in “Applause,” a Broadway musical version of the 1950 film “All about Eve.”
