Trausnitz Castle is a medieval castle situated in Landshut, Bavaria in Germany. It was the home of the Wittelsbach dynasty, and it served as their ducal residence for Lower Bavaria from 1255–1503, and later as the seat of the hereditary rulers of the whole of Bavaria.
Included in the tour of the castle are medieval halls such as the impressive vaulted Old Knight's Hall and the castle chapel with its important sculptures and the winged altar-pieces of the Rich Dukes.

Bulky items may not be taken into the museum rooms. Lockers are available near the cash desk for large bags, rucksacks, photo equipment etc. Prams and child carriers can be left at the cash desk. No liability can be acceptedfor items deposited in lockers or at the cash desk.
Dogs and other pets are not allowed in any of the buildings. We cannot offer supervision for animals brought along. Please keep dogs on an lead on the castle grounds.

The Chapel of St George is one of the original buildings of the medieval castle. It is decorated with sculpture of great artistic value dating from 1230/35 – a monumental carved crucifixion group and coloured stucco-work figures on the altar wall and gallery balustrade.
