- About
St Edmund's College is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge in England. Founded in 1896, it is the second-oldest of the three Cambridge colleges oriented to mature students, which accept only students reading for postgraduate degrees or for undergraduate degrees if aged 21 years or older.
Location and student life. Within our 10 acres, we welcome the world. St Edmund’s is a place to explore ideas and perspectives, a place of friendship and welcome. A place of personal and intellectual growth for those who will shape the future for millions, in countries across the globe.
Unique among the modern Cambridge Colleges, St Edmund’s College Chapel is a Catholic foundation. The Blessed Sacrament is reserved and the liturgy is celebrated according to the Roman Catholic rite. The Dean is, by Statute, a Catholic priest.
Why choose St Edmund’s? The origins of St Edmund’s College lie in the repeal of the Test Act in 1871, permitting Jewish, Non-Conformist and Roman Catholic scholars to return to the University of Cambridge for the first time since the religious revolution of the sixteenth century.
For students applying by the 16th October UCAS deadline, please be aware of the deadline for My Cambridge Application which is at 18.00 (UK time) on 23 October. We also require applicants in some subjects to register for an admissions assessment.
