If substituting frozen fruit add 1/4 cup water instead of the 1/2 cup ice. The degree of “frozenness” will determine how much your blender will be able to take. It will also give a more “soft serve” consistency than a smoothie, which is great in the warmer season. Adjust sugar or low calorie sweetener to taste.
Preparation. Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Helpful hints. Protein will vary depending on the brand of protein powder used and the amount of protein per tablespoon. Ingredients 1 packet frozen acai, unsweetened; 1 cup mixed frozen berries, unsweetened; 3/4 cup plain 2% low fat Greek yogurt
In a blender add water, frozen berries, ice cubes and liquid flavor enhancer drops. Blend until slushy and mixed well. Add whipped topping and blend well. Add protein powder. Blend well. Divide into 2 servings and enjoy one right away or freeze and defrost to enjoy later. DaVita Eats: Mixed Berry Protein Smoothie.
Preparation. Combine cocoa, cold water and sugar. Stir until sugar dissolves. Add egg whites and 3 tablespoons of the whipped topping. Mix until whipped topping melts completely. Top with 1 tablespoon whipped topping and chocolate bar shavings.
Place blueberries in a blender and blend on low for 1 minute. Add protein powder, yogurt and almond milk. Blend to a soft-serve consistency. Scrape sides of blender as needed. Scoop mixture into a bowl. Top with sliced strawberries, fresh raspberries, high fiber cereal and coconut flakes. Add honey or sweetener of choice if desired.
