The Nashua River Rail Trail stretches from southern Nashua, New Hampshire, to downtown Ayer, Massachusetts, connecting to the towns of Pepperell and Groton. The trail is built on the former rail corridor of the Hollis Branch of the Boston and Maine Railroad.

Nashua River Westside Trail. Location: Runs parallel to River Rd (Rte. 111) from South St. (Rte. 119) to Kemp's horse track. The Town of Pepperell owns a little less than one mile of the rail bed in this location, purchased in June, 2002 for Conservation, with State Self-Help funds from the Massachusetts Division of Conservation Services.

This 11 mile bike trail goes from Ayer, MA to Nashua, NH. Park in Pepperell, and go in either direction for a wonderful ride though woods, along the river and away from traffic. Stop in Pepperell Center for ice cream at Charlotte's (or head down to Doc Davis) or lunch at Breen's.
