The 1944 classic movie THE KEYS OF THE KINGDOM stars Gregory Peck as an unorthodox Catholic missionary to China. While very inspirational as a whole, some caution is necessary regarding comments made about the qualifications for heaven.

Some religious themes calling for discernment; some war-related sequences. About These Ratings. Based on the onetime best-selling novel by A. J. Cronin, the film looks back on a life of heroic priestly service unmarked by outward success, worldly recognition or ecclesiastical honor.
THE KEYS OF THE KINGDOM. Rarely have I been so stirred by a book as by this new novel from the author of The Citadel. If I were a bookseller, I should tell my customers that this was no romance, no glamorous creative achievement, no fast-paced adventure tale to take one's mind off the war.
