Teenager Keith is a high-school student and mechanic who lives with his working-class family. His father's ambition is for him to go to college, but Keith disagrees because he's more interested in the Arts. His best friend is tomboy Watts, and the girl of his dreams is the popular Amanda.
"Some Kind of Wonderful" is a worthwhile film, all right, but it's also entertaining - especially in the scenes between Stoltz and John Ashton, who plays his father. Ashton wants his kid to go to college; the kid would rather devote the energy to his artwork.
